We’ve reached the end of October and with it comes Halloween, the tradition that makes spooky things rather cozy. The Akari 1A lamps are small rice paper lamps on a tripod. The designer Isamu Noguchi has made different patterns on the lamps and 1AY is with its orange paper a warm and cute light source. The lamp is very charming and the orange color is complemented by small figures of white.
The lamp is made up of bamboo rods, coated with traditional Washi paper, made from the bark of Mulberry trees. The entire Akari-series is marked with a signature from Noguchi and a sun and moon symbol in red.
