The Mikado chair, by Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby for Vitra, impresses not only with its design, but also with its exceptional comfort. The sitting experience is defined by the all-round upholstery and the movable backrest: a smart mechanism hidden under the seat means that the backrest can be gently tilted backwards. Mikado covers are not glued and can be removed for cleaning or replacement. The legs can be replaced individually or exchanged for other material options - wood or recycled aluminium. The seat plate is made of recycled aluminum and the base of the backrest is made of recycled polypropylene, which can be easily separated from the foam during recycling.
