Design: Marcel Gascoin, 1947
Concept: This dining table chair from GUBI is inspired by the original Marcel Gascoin C-Chair and is a daring statement about the convenience and comfort of the post-war era. The soft curve of the backrest gently crosses the graceful lines of the wooden chair to create a silhouette that is at once futuristic and timeless. The chair was originally created out of necessity to fit into the new sizes of houses built at the end of World War II, where Gascoin compensated for the lack of space by creating a simple, functional design.
GUBI's outdoor version of the C-Chair is a rethinking of the stunning design. In this outdoor version, the classic silhouette is made of durable and naturally durable teak, weather-resistant braid of HDPE wicker and stainless steel screws that ensure a long life and an extremely durable material choice. By constantly reinventing this model and products in new areas, GUBI strives to maintain its ability to surprise and excite. Today, the chair lives on as a design icon known for its simple construction and refined aesthetics.
