Design: Scholten & Baijings for HAY Concept: HAY's 13Eighty Chair, designed by Dutch designers Scholten & Baijings, is aptly named for the number of small holes in the polypropylene shell. These perforations create a distinctive aesthetic, where transparency and play with light and shadows add a very special expression to the chair, while the variations in the sizes of the holes give a sense of movement in the visuals. They also have a functional use in draining rainwater when chairs are used outdoors. 13Eighty comes in several different versions, and is intended to be used in the beautiful outdoor areas.
