Designer: Marcel Gascoin in 1950 Concept: A simple, robust and incredibly functional dining table from Gubi. The table can be transformed with a slight sliding movement from a classic square table to a table with 6 seats. It is made up of four solid but refined legs, a robust oak frame, a square table top and four curved extension leaves. These plates are kept hidden under the table top by magnets and if two of the plates are taken out, the last two appear elegantly by turning the table top. The inspiration for the table comes from the post-war period in France, where Marcel Gascoin got his inspiration, from the many compact French homes.
