Design: Patricia Urquiola for Flos
Concept: Flos Almendra is a modular lighting system designed by the Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola. It takes its name from the almond tree and is composed of shapes and colors that draw clear inspiration from the tree and its branches. The innovative system uses advanced technology in a symphony of exquisite design, poetic materials and sustainability. The Almendra series consists of 3 different models, all reminiscent of the branches of a tree where the diffusers act as leaves. All the diffusers are movable so that the light fall can be easily adjusted during installation, where they can be rotated in steps of 60 degrees at a time. Almendra is produced with sustainability in mind, as the leaves are made from a by-product from paper production and the entire lamp is assembled without the use of glue, so everything can be taken apart and reused. Use the iconic pendant in the living room to provide direct light over the dining table, in the kitchen over the kitchen table or use the lamp to provide a spherical and organic atmosphere in the bedroom with a diffused light to the surroundings. The many colors and sizes, as well as options for the number of diffusers, give you ample opportunity to choose just the version of Almendra that suits your surroundings and your home.
