The Ni collection takes its name from the Japanese word for movement and tells the story of form captured in silence. Each object begins as hand-shaped clay and is shaped into organic silhouettes that seem alive, as if stopped in mid-step. Shapes and curves lead the mind to wind over water or a dancer’s movement in space. The sculptural legs meet at a delicate point of balance, giving the objects an almost human presence. Seen from different angles, the form changes character and reveals new tensions and lines, while the narrow opening invites simple arrangements or to let the object stand alone as an artistic statement.
