A new platform with a focus on sustainable design turned out to have great value for the customers at Andlight. As one of Europe’s leading retailers of designer lighting, the company launched the platform in order to offer customers a better overview and the possibility to choose a sustainable design for their home.

The project was a sizable investment but has been considered an important milestone, in order to increase transparency and cultivate attention around sustainability in the design industry. Through a new digital strategy and an increased marketing budget, Andlight’s new platform was supposed to give consumers an overview of the green agenda, regarding designer lamps. Already, the company is finding the initiative fruitful after a successful launch that increased interest for sustainable design from one day to the other.

From a set of eco-friendly criteria, the E-commerce company analyzes all of their +8000 products and assigns products with a sustainability badge, given that they meet international, environmental criteria. The goal is to make it easy for the consumer to identify sustainable solutions. The criteria are explained on Andlight’s sustainability platform, so consumers know what the sustainability badge entails. 

The company’s new initiative has made it easy for the consumer to choose sustainably and this is reflected in sales, that testify an increasing need for environment-friendly design. Since the launch of the new platform, the company has experienced an extraordinary growth in sales of lamps with the Andlight sustainability badge.
 

The future of sustainability within the industry


According to Andlight, the market will keep moving in one direction - an increased attention to sustainability. This is why the company feels that, from an economic point of view, it is a sound investment to have an increased focus on designer lamps with a minimal environmental imprint.

From internal analysis, through recent years, Andlight has seen an increase in customers, who seeks to decorate their homes beautifully, whilst contributing to a greener world.
