About the designer: "You sit better on a colour that you like" – Verner Panton. The Danish designer Verner Panton (1926-1998) was an important and leading part of Danish design’s golden age. Panton was close friends with Arne Jacobsen, Hans J. Wegner, and Poul Henningsen, whose mode of expression is known and loved all over the world. Despite Panton’s partaking in the hay-day of Danish design his designs differed from those of his Danish and Scandinavian colleagues. His idiom was provocative, playful, futuristic, and full of personality. The passion for unconventional uses of material and vivid colours was an essential part of the DNA of many of Panton’s sculptural creations. His iconic and playful mode of expression is still highly popular in both Danish and international homes. Here at AndLight you’ll find several other of Verner Panton’s original and timeless lamp designs.
