Tom Dixon has a mission to "design, illuminate and decorate the future". With the Melt Chrome pendant, this mission is acted out.This lamp looks like a golden metal clump and in the off state it is reflective. When it is turned on, an almost magical look that appears and the lamp becomes translucent. The technique used is a so-called vacuum metallisation.The Melt lamp has been developed in collaboration between Tom Dixon and the Swedish design collective Front. This collaboration has been a great match in terms of creativity. The lamp comes in both copper, chrome, and gold. They fit well together, but the individual lamp is also unique in itself.
