Design: Alvar Aalto for artek

Concept:
Hand Grenade A110 was designed in 1952, but has at no point gone out of fashion. This can probably be explained by its creative and timeless design. The shape of the lamp was inspired by German hand grenades, which had the same shape as the lamp. It is a minimalistic, yet interesting lamp to look at. Hand Grenade A110 is designed functionally, so it reflects a soft light upwards, but also gives a natural light downwards. Note: the lamp is white with a brass detail in the bottom
