AndLight in Residence

With Rebecca Goddard

AndLight in Residence is a new and exciting interior design project that aims to break convention and bring design to life in the homes of renowned interior designers, content creators, and influencers. At AndLight we are constantly working on ways to expand our horizons and build an even stronger design community! As an online retailer of high-end design, AndLight in Residence is a way to share our passion for good design and bring design products to life in the most inspiring environments.

For the first AndLight in Residence project we visit designer and influencer Rebecca Goddard (@rebeccagoddard) in her beautiful home in the heart of Munich. Rebecca has curated a selection of beautiful lighting, furniture, and home accessories for the project, all of which can be found in the AndLight range.

New Works

It's quite intentional that the decor in Rebecca's home is kept in calm colours and without too many contrasts. This is where she finds peace and transforms her home into a cosy sanctuary. The deliberate simplicity allows each design object to stand out and receive the admiration it deserves.

"On the bedsides, we have the beautiful Kizu lamps from New Works bringing a nice sculptural element into the space. The form of this lamp is dominant, so I like how opting for the white marble version brought a bit of softness to contrast that. They frame the bed well I think. In the corner of the room, we have the beautiful Covent Lounge chair also from New Works in creamy bouclé. I always gravitate towards pieces with soft curves, and I love just how curvaceous this design is without feeling massive or bulky" ...

"These same familiar curves can be found on the other side of our flat in the living room, in the form of the Covent Residential sofa. Because we love to get cozy and spend a lot of time lounging around on weekends, I opted for the sofa in the darker grey-taupe boucle. The fabric suits our lifestyle well, and having a bit of contrast brings some definition to the room, especially when combined with the linen-covered Margin pendant lamp that hangs over the head. Both of these designs bring a lot of volume and character into the otherwise cream and white interior." - Rebecca Goddard

Oi Soi Oi

Another important design for Rebecca is the Umbrella ceiling lamp by Oi Soi Oi, a Danish company whose lamps are handmade in Vietnam, where integrity, tradition, and responsibility go hand in hand to ensure quality and proper production conditions.

The Umbrella lamp envelops the room with its umbrella-like shape and the design allows the lamp to be mounted close to the ceiling. According to Rebecca Goddard, what is fascinating about the Oi Soi Oi Umbrella lamp is its silky shape and muted colour. She added: "I thought the Oi Soi Oi Umbrella lamp was the perfect lamp for this room."

"All Oi Soi Oi lamps have a buttery silk fabric that surrounds the light source. I chose the Umbrella model because I loved how the lamp was completely wrapped in silk, even when viewed from below. This was important to me as I didn't want to look directly at the light bulb when I was lying in bed" -Rebecca Goddard
